A few quick thoughts for you tonight:
1) Don’t underestimate the power of Yahoo Answers.
Lots of folks talk about how this method is dead and it’s saturated. True, if you’re looking for instant conversions and sales from Yahoo Answers, look somewhere else.
Tonight, though, I went over to Answers and posted a very helpful reply to someone’s question that just happened to be in my area of expertise. I also linked to my blog on this subject in the “Source” box.
I just received an e-mail that my answer was chosen as the “Best Answer”. I’m also seeing a nice little spike in traffic as this is a fairly new blog.
Good old, white hat answers on Yahoo Answer DOES still work for some basic traffic generation.
2) Adbrite CPV
After fighting a losing battle with AdWords over the last couple of days, I’m moving one of my campaigns over to AdBrite. Did you know that with AdBrite you can buy “views” instead of clicks for as little as $0.01? That’s one PENNY. I often forget about this little traffic generation tactic but we’ll see how it pans out with this particular offer. I’ve never had great results with AdBrite but I haven’t tried them is a while. We’ll see.
3) Go with What You Know
After a long journey and hopping from trend to trend, I finally stopped resisting and started another blog about a subject that I know very well…a subject that I deal with regularly in my ‘day job’. When I first started out in Internet Marketing, I thought it would be great to ‘escape’ and branch out into things I had never marketed before.
I had some great results and I also had some awful results. Turns out it really does help to actually KNOW what the hell you’re talking about. I realize that now.
I COULD go out there and market breast enhancement or hair loss products, but how good is my ad copy going to be when I don’t deal with those issues at all in my every day life?
I find, now that I’m blogging about something I actually KNOW about, I sound much more legit. My traffic is really going gangbusters as a result as well.
Sometimes, it’s a good idea to “go with what you know”.
So there you have it…three quick ideas for you to sleep on. What do you think? Have you used any of these tactics or methods lately? I could put three polls here at the bottom but that seems too complicated. Just drop a comment. Come on, you could use a little link love.
Now, stop reading. Start making money.

Thanks for the comments on Yahoo Answers. I have had a little luck recently but had quit putting any efforts into it lately because of all of the negative hype. I will give it another shot.
Please keep us informed about the Adbrite campaign. Interested in reading about your results on this.

You’ve made your point and you nailed it…”Go with what you know.” I too have dabbled in several niches, partially as research for clients. However, I got stuck for a while “testing” results for my own projects. This allowed slippage to occur in my core business and passion, SEO.
Thanks to your daily feeding of thoughful and to-the-point advice I’m back to basics.
Thanks ever so much for keeping it real and staying focused on what you do best. I’ve harvested a rich crop of ideas from your pages. I don’t know how you keep it coming without running dry but I am greatful that you are going with what you know!!
Ciao,
Alex:)
